Miles OS is a Windows app to plan the day, focus, keep habits and reflect. This page explains what data it handles, why, and what you can do about it.

What we store and why
- Your Google account: its id, e-mail address and first name. To sign you in and to greet you. We never see your Google password.
- Your Miles OS data (missions, tasks, habits, sessions, journal, metrics, settings): it lives on your computer. To have the same data on every computer you sign in on, changes are sent to our server encrypted on your computer (AES-256-GCM). The key comes from your account's sync code, which our server keeps encrypted so it can give it to the computers you sign in on.
- Sessions: a random token per computer (we keep only its hash), so you stay signed in.
- Your Google Calendar, only if you connect it: Miles OS reads and edits the events of your primary calendar, from your computer and directly with Google, to show them next to your day and to add the events and focus blocks you create. Our server never receives them; a copy for offline use stays on your computer. Disconnecting removes that copy and Miles OS's access.
- Feedback you send from the app: the text, the app version, the Windows version and your e-mail, to answer and improve Miles OS.
- The waitlist on this website: the e-mail you leave (the Google account to invite) and when, to invite you to the beta; and a one-way hash of your IP address, only to stop someone adding many e-mails at once.
- Crash reports, unless you turn them off (Settings → Help improve Miles OS): when the app hits an error, the kind of error, its message, where in Miles OS's code it happened, the app and Windows versions and the time, with your account if you are signed in. Paths in your user folder and your Windows user name are removed before sending. To find and fix bugs. Without a session, a one-way hash of your IP address is kept only to limit how many reports one place can send.
- Usage statistics, unless you turn them off (same place): for each day, how many times the app was opened, each page shown and a few things done (a task created or completed, a habit checked, a session finished…), with your account and the app version. Never what you write, the names of your tasks or habits, or any value you record. To know what the beta is used for and what to improve.
Miles OS and this website have no ads, no cookies and no tracking across other sites or apps. Errors are also written to a file on your computer.
Who processes it
- Google: the sign-in, and Google Calendar if you connect it. Miles OS's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
- Cloudflare: hosts our server (Workers and Durable Objects) and the app updates.
We do not sell or share your data with anyone else.
How long we keep it
While you have an account. When you delete it, your account, its sessions and your synced data are deleted from our server right away, and so are your usage statistics; feedback and crash reports you sent are kept without your e-mail or account id. Waitlist e-mails are kept until the beta ends, or until you ask us to remove yours.
Your rights
- Export everything: Settings → Data → Export data (a JSON file).
- Delete your account and its data on our server: Settings → Account → Delete account. The data on your computer stays there until you uninstall Miles OS and delete its folder.
- You can also ask us to access, correct or delete your data, or object to how we use it, at the address above, and complain to your data protection authority.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, the app will tell you.
